Next Screen Star: a new reality show by Shirley Frimpong-Manso

A new reality show has been launched to unearth talents in the field of acting.

The event dubbed ‘Next Screen Star,’ is put together by award-winning film director, writer and producer Shirley Frimpong-Manso.

According to Shirley, the ‘Next Screen Star’ is an acting program aimed at unearthing talents to create “that professional actor every director will want on their set”.

The programme which will be done within 5 weeks comes in three parts.

Firstly, there will be a Workshop where students will be taken through lessons og honing the skills and fitting into the competitive acting profession.

After that, there will be the Grand Audition Session. This session assesses the contestants who took part in workshop on what they learnt.

Those who excel in this exercise will be given a role in a Shirley Frimpong-Manso Film, which will be premiered online.

The third and final stage will be the Film Production Session which will take place after the grand audition.

“Only selected actors at the audition (selection will be based strictly on performance) will be given a role in the film production. Roles will vary from lead, supporting, minor and extra roles,” she said.

Interested applicants should log on to www.nextscreenstar.com to download the forms, complete it, add a passport picture and deliver it at the front desk of the Next Screen Star office, No. 13 Star Avenue, Kokomlemle, Accra.
